Nikko Kefalas’s innovative and creative style has gained him recognition among fashion’s most elite photographers, designers, and talent. He personifies“Style” and is recognized as an avant-garde fashion and celebrity stylist. Heis one of the few who can develop unique and cutting edge images while workingwithin the guidelines of both editors and clients.

A Fashion Design Graduate and Costume History Major, Nikko startedout as a young fashion designer designing collections for his fathers anduncle’s hair presentations in both Canada and in Europe. In Montreal he workedon developing collections and designing for companies such as Parasuco, Buffalo Jeans, Roots, and FrenchConnection. He gained an understanding of constructing and tailoringgarments and applied it towards coordinating collections for the runway and foreditorial. Nikko worked with such coordinators as Kevin Krier & Associates, Debra Hughes and Mao P.R. for thecollections of Marc Jacobs, IssacMizrahi, Hugo Boss, Perry Ellis, Carolina Herrera, Tommy Hilfiger, andvarious beauty companies such as MACCosmetics, Sephora, Sebastian, Joico,L’Oreal, Matrix, Redken, and Schwarzkopf. 

While working with Patricia Fields’ (“Sex And The City”) andprestigious boutique, “The House ofFields”, Nikko was introduced to the underground sub culture of New Yorkfashion. In 1997, Nikko was approached by BlackBook Magazine to work as a stylist and freelance creative director. Notlong afterwards, he became their exclusive Fashion Director. His contributionand sense of style made Black Book arecognizable urban fashion magazine virtually overnight. He helped develop andcreate the Little Black Bookdirectory guide and brought in major fashion advertisers, helping the magazinegrow. In 2007 Nikko also became ContributingEditor for Vogue En Español and ZincMagazine. In 2009 Nikko also became Contributing Style Editor at Surface Magazine. His contribution tothe Avant Guardian Issue gave themagazine a nomination for its innovative collective editorial.

Nikko has worked as a Stylistand Creative Director with a wide range of magazines such as Numero, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Flaunt, GQ,Paper Magazine, L’Uomo Vogue and Brazilian / German / Russian  /Greek  / Spanish Vogue. Some of the celebrities hehas styled include Pink, Steven Tyler, Alicia Keys, Ricky Martin, NataliePortman, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Aniston, Brooke Shields, Sharon Stone, ScarlettJohansson, Eva Longoria, Venus and Serena Williams and James Franco.  In addition, Nikko has worked on many adcampaigns for Neiman Marcus, Guess,Carolina Herrera, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sony, Paco Rabanne, Kenneth Cole, SteveMadden, Joico, Sebastian, MAC Cosmetics, Redken, Shiseido, Maybelline andEscada.

In the public eye,magazines such as In Style, Women’s Wear Daily, Entertainment Weekly,Elle, Black Book, Vogue En Español have chosen to interview Nikko aboutdesigners and fashion trends. He has also appeared as a commentator and criticon “Fashion Police”, Fashion File, E!Style Channel’s “Full Frontal Fashion”, “Facing Fame”, as well on-sitehost, coordinator and style expert for NBC’s“Fresh Faces of Sports Illustrated”. “Nikko is one of the first few editorswho introduced Haute Couture to the young pop culture editorial world in thenineties. With his sense of creativity and direction, he’s styled these over-the-top constrictive garments and makes them seem young, fun and fresh and isbest remembered for that.
